Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials and guide the pouring of concrete into forms or onto surfaces based on the specified grade.
- Smooth out hollows and eliminate blemishes on newly poured cement.
- Create bids and quotes for projects.
- Utilize power vibrators to compact concrete.
- Level the upper surface of concrete in accordance with grade and depth requirements.
- Perform tasks at elevated heights, on scaffolding, or using swing stages.
- Achieve the desired finish on concrete surfaces using both hand and power tools.
- Provide guidance to apprentices.
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.
- Apply substances for hardening and sealing to facilitate surface curing.
- Waterproof, damp-proof, and restore surfaces.
- Fix, resurface, or replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
- Estimate material and cost requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
