Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide and empty bedpans.
- Measure patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Distribute meal trays and assist patients with feeding.
- Assist with weighing, lifting, turning, and positioning patients.
- Transfer messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments.
- Make beds and upkeep patients’ rooms.
- Monitor patients’ exercise routines.
- Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming patients.
- Transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher.
- Prepare patients for surgery by cleansing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas.
- Accompany patients during recreational activities outside and perform additional tasks related to patient care and comfort.
- Provide first aid in emergency situations.
